The Guatemalan Linguistic Center Tierra Maya offers a one on one personalized program adapted to your needs for the following levels: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. Each guarantees your learning in a short time.
In the school we offer different programs such as our Medical Spanish Program. This includes complete teaching of medical vocabulary and participation in rural clinics, communities, public hospitals, as both observers or volunteers.
For those who are interested in business, we offer a Spanish Management Program, with which you can directly facilitate your businesses without intermediaries.
The Spanish Program for Children includes fun games, and simple vocabulary directed by instructors with experience in teaching children.
We offer a schedule in the morning from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm, and in the afternoon from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm. If you would like to study only three or four hours, a schedule is available in the afternoon, as well as on the weekends.
Our classes are total immersion in Spanish, and our instructors have the experience and capabilities to teach any level of student. With simple and essential vocabulary and through the support of the instructive material, our program is personalized to advance your learning in a fast and effective way. The school has a coordinator that speaks English, and can help you if necessary.
There is a world of things for you to practice and learn each day including, conversations, lectures and translations, as well as literature, exchanges of opinions and more. All with the objective to better your fluency, your grammatical structures and pronunciation.
All class time is useful. With our program, a student with no knowledge of Spanish can communicate with Spanish speakers starting the very first week. With more time, and through the personalized program you can effectively succeed in applying what you have learned to increase your fluency and comprehension. Some motivated students in our program have been here more than three months at our school.
The first day of classes your teacher gives you an exam which determines your level, and forms a development program through a weekly plan that is applied each day. At the end of the week, you will be able to see your progress. According to your interests the administration assigns an ideal teacher for you.
The school provides all the instructive material to better your learning, which is available for both teachers and students. But you can bring the material that you think can help you. Also, we work with the Linguistic Center handbook, which includes the necessary elements for enjoyable, simple, and effective learning of the Spanish language at all levels, designed and based on our experience and research.
Of course you can start your lessons mid week, but only within the schedule that we have available.
As part of our program of total immersion, we have frequent art exhibits in the school from local and national artists, such as: painters, musicians, folkloric groups, indigenous music, artisans and demonstrations of traditional Mayan weaving, because we are proud of our cultural heritage. On the weekends we show National and Latin American Cinema where you can taste traditional Guatemalan food at a low cost to support social projects.
